The following details outline the club’s normal activities which were taking place prior to the Covid-19 crisis. Please see the Upcoming Sessions page for updates regarding the return to training.
The club holds training at Cliffe Castle Park on a weekly basis from 10am to 11.30am. This is held throughout the year for the beginners’ group with the remaining groups usually training here also. This training is off-road.
Road sessions are held once a month at the Steven Burke Hub in Barrowford, and are usually for all riders except those in the beginner group. These are held on a traffic-free closed tarmac racing circuit and held as a shared session with our friends at Cycle Sport Pendle CC. Road tyres are recommended.
During the Summer months, training is held at Marley Stadium on a Monday night from 6.30pm to 7.30pm for all groups. These sessions are usually off-road, though older riders may go out onto the roads for some supervised coaching on occasion. The road rides are only open to capable riders in school year 7 and above.
In the Winter months, indoor roller training is held at Parkwood Primary School from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on alternate Thursdays. These sessions are open to riders in school year 5 and above.
Bronte Tykes members are also invited to apply to take part in the monthly track cluster sessions on the velodrome at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. These sessions are run by British Cycling rather than the club, and require online entry via the British Cycling website.
