Winter Cross is coming! It’s time to dig out your camping chairs, flasks, wellies, umbrella’s, big bobble hats, gloves, thermals, buy some soup and hot chocolate. I hope you have cleared your diary? Get ready for mud, cold, weekend of cleaning bikes/bike kit after getting muddy. If you’ve not been to a winter cross race before come prepared for lots of mud, cold and most of all fun and socialising. so on that note the calendar has been updated to keep you busy please take a look at the dates with the 1st race starting on 2nd September. Bronte Tykes Scholarship 2018 Bronte Tykes Junior CC are excited to announce the 2018 Rider Development Scholarship Programme. Our annual scholarship scheme is targeted at 1st claim Tykes members in the British Cycling youth categories A, B, and 2nd Year C (riders of Secondary School age). We want riders that are good Ambassadors for the club, who want to help and inspire our younger riders develop and who will race regularly and represent the club. You need to be keen and motivated to develop your cycling and be prepared to take part in scholarship specific training sessions. Don’t worry if you fall outside of the age criteria this year. Our scholarship scheme is a rolling programme and as always, we’ll be taking applications every 12 months and adding to the squad. Due to the circuit at Colne being unavailable and a low number of coaches, this Saturday’s Road session has been cancelled. Unfortunately no other session will take its place for the older group. However a session for the younger groups (usually coached by Lucy, Steve, Peter, Chris) will take place at UAK in the morning.
There is No Training on Saturday due to many coaches, volunteers and riders heading to Scarborough Races for the weekend. See you all Monday or next Saturday.
This Saturday. Is the turn of the road session. The session will be held at the Steven Burke Circuit, Colne. Parking and access is via Wilton Street, Barrowford. BB98PU. The session is open to all riders and runs between 1:30 and 3:30pm. Please dress accordingly with helmet and short fingered gloves a minimum requirement. Also make sure you bring a drink and a snack 👍
