2017-2018 Age Categories

BSCA Age categories and Gear Restrictions for 2016/2017

For Circuit, Time Trial, Track and Roller Racing Regional and National Championships, the maximum gear will be the distance covered per crank revolution for that age group.

Generally, the following age categories apply but it is the child’s age on the 1st September at the start of the school year e.g. If a child was 11 on the 1st September 2016, they will be Under 13.

Please see BSCA site for more details on age categories.

If you have Bronte Tykes Membership you will receive a BSCA Number from Ria. If you would like a BSCA Number, your Bronte Tykes membership can be renewed on the Bronte Tykes British Cycling website. Please notify Ria once you have done this and she will issue you a number.

Just a reminder no session this Saturday, we will be back on Saturday 14th January.

Come along to Peel Park to watch all the racing, follow link below for details of the days events. U12’s racing on Sunday.

Note to anyone going on Saturday I have been informed Bradford City are playing on Saturday afternoon so traffic could be busier.

Good luck to all racing, have fun and good luck to riders on the velodrome on Sunday.

White Rose Youth League

Some Great riding from Archie and Harrison during the White Rose Youth League at Brooksbank Cycle Track today.  This was the final race of the season and they both raced really well.  Harrison competed in his last under 8s and will be joining Archie in the under 10s next year.  Archie put in a superb effort today, it was too close to know if he came 3rd or 4th, so we will have to wait for the results.  Unfortunately Owen wasn’t there today as he was completing the first stage of the coast to coast challenge with other riders from the Club.  The Closed Circuit Sessions in Colne have really helped the riders on their skills for these races, hopefully we will have more Bronte Tykes riders joining Archie, Harrison and Owen next year.
