****Session Update for Sat 27th April****
Recent road sessions have been quiet and after some feedback it would appear that the session being on a Saturday PM is a big factor. Circuit space on a Saturday AM is not available so we have negotiated sharing the circuit with Cycle Sport Pendle on a Saturday morning. This will mean we save some costs, share coaching and our riders can have some friendly competition with riders from a local club. With this in mind there will be no session at Cliffe Castle on Saturday 27th April. All riders from all groups are asked to attend the road session at the Steven Burke Hub. Please arrive for 10:15 to sign on at the bottom circuit gates as usual. The session will run from 10:30-12:00. Should this session be a success the road session every 4th week will be the same format.
Parking is available off Wilton Street, Barrowford (BB9 8PU)as usuall or a the club carpark off Cravendale Avenue, Colne (BB98SJ)
Please remember. For the blue and White groups road tyres must be used. No CX or MTB tyres.
Apologies for the late notice but today’s session has been cancelled due to the poor weather in particular the high winds. We were reluctant to cancel after cancelling last week but the safety of the riders and coaches comes first. Fingers crossed we are good to go next Saturday.
Unfortunately we are going to cancel both Cliffe Castle and Steven Burke sessions tomorrow. After reports that other clubs have cancelled their own sessions at at both venues due to lying snow and ice. Hopefully we will be back to normal with a session for all riders at Cliffe Castle next week.
This Saturday is the road session for blue and white groups over at the Steven Burke circuit at Colne. (In line with the 8 week planner). Please keep an eye of Facebook regarding this session. Snow should not be an issue but ice on the circuit maybe. A decision will be made on Saturday morning.
For tomorrow’s session with the scholarship/development group (white bar tape), I intend riding with them to Marley from our usual meeting point at Cliff Castle. This will be a cyclocross specific session, so a cx bike with suitable tyres will be necessary. Please bring a spare tube, etc just in case and as always, suitable winter clothing. See you all there.
